On Saturday we marched in the handmade parade–or rather, fluttered and flew, as we were represented by butterflies and birds. The musicians kept us in time and got the crowd clapping when we came by, but the gorgeous puppets gave the biggest thrills. Our own puppet was quite circumspect, but some of our fellow parade marchers were truly inspired.
I give you the swimmer,
who may have been on the lookout for this lovely mermaid.
And here’s a butterfly big enough to carry off a small child–
though it seemed quite friendly. Another personal favorite were the crowd of funny-faced old men, with this fellow,
cleaning up the show.
Fun times were had by all, I believe, and the handmade puppets are now ready for a Halloween encore!
