In a study done by professors of psychology at Catholic Universtity of the Sacred Heart (Milan, Itally) individuals who were true night owls were found to be more creative than their counterparts.
The reason was not known, but the researchers guessed that non-conformity in waking hours might lead to an adaption of increased creativity because the individual was living outside the norm.
As I read this I mourned the midnight hours I’ve had to give up, but I took heart when I remembered how enjoyable I’ve found rising before the sun, and while the household is still soundly sleeping.
Besides, Terry Pratchett is hardly a conformist, but he’s reportedly a very thorough morning person.
