This story is proof that good things can come in small packages! B Magical: The Missing Magic is a slim little book, and the story’s not terribly complex, but it packs a lot of fun into those pages. My favorite bit was undoubtably the hamster, which you can see there on the cover, looking like he’s not exactly thrilled to be hanging out.
I also really enjoyed the way Lexi Connor explored unintended side-effects of the B’s actions. And the way those choices build on each other, creating new situations with their own entertaining challenges. I really can’t say much more than that without giving things away, but I think this book would be an excellent choice for a child just branching out into middle grades, or even an older child who wants something sweet and fun, that will provide a comfort read when life is a little daunting. I highly recommend it!
But, let’s see what the Apricot-kitty has to say. You know she’s always got to add her two bits!
“That girl was trouble, T-R-O-U-B-L-E, trouble! I hate to ever find myself agreeing with a bite of lunch like that hamster, but he got that right. To think–setting off sprinklers? And all that running around, not to mention breaking things. Someone ought to sit that girl down and teach her a thing or two beyond spelling!”
I think…my cat just made a pun. Get it, the girl is always spelling words while trying to her magic spelling down right! hahaha! Okay, maybe not that funny. Anyway, what books have you been reading lately? Got any you can recommend?
