How much do your rejection letters weigh?  Do they add up to a pound?

Imagine you had an ancient scale.  You take it out, dust it off, and set it on the desk.  Now pile your rejection letters on one side.  What would you place on the other?  Missing your favorite show for three years straight?  Giving up the dog you always wanted?  Planting a garden, full of flowers?  Innumerable hours of chilling time with loved ones?  How high can you pile the scale?

Now imagine letting your hand drop–the scales swing and balance.  How much do the rejection letters weigh?  On my scale they hold their own–the scale balances.

Who knew a few slips of paper could weigh so much?
