I noticed last night that I’m approaching the three-hundred-posts mark, and this got me thinking. Seeing as this blog is the closest thing I’ll ever have to an electronic child, perhaps a celebration of some kind would be in order. It would be extra memorable if I could have an average of a post a day by the time the site turns one year old, it seems to me.
Of course, some would point out that quantity is great, but quality is better. To which I would reply that in most fields, writing among them, practice brings improvement. Besides, there’s always been the chance that my blog would be nothing more than spewn drivel. 🙂
So I pulled out the calculator and knocked some numbers around. It turns out that if I blog seven times a week I’ll have 365 posts before Aug. 12, 2007.
Seven is an awkward number, as I know I won’t blog on the weekend, but I figure there’ll be vacation weeks where I get very little done (besides cook myself on the sand), so aiming at two blogs a day M-F seems fair. If I get down to the wire and needs some more blogs, I can always hold a marathon of some kind. My own private version of NaNoWriMo, only for blogging.
If I make my goal I’ll have some kind of online party, maybe a carnival? Any suggestions are welcome!
