At some point a few weeks past, I reached the lofty number of having ten submissions out at once. Shortly afterwards, ‘Bovine Aspirations’ was accepted by Bewildering Stories.
A couple stories came back as rejections, I kept up the writing and revising, and soon I had my total count of stories out back up to ten. Before I could get the eleventh story out, ‘Watcher in the Dark’ sold to Hadley Rille Press for their Ruins Anthology.
Gladiator came back, needing a rewrite, another story was retired, various riff-raff crossed the desk.  Now Gladiator has gone back out and, with the addition of ‘Way of the Priestess’, I once again have ten stories going the submission rounds.
Now, I know I’m just a crazy writer, but I’ve noticed a pattern. Whenever I’ve been in danger of having eleven stories out, I’ve made a sale.
I think its time to test a hypothesis. I wonder how quickly I can get another story ready to go… 😉
