While of course I’m grateful for many things this Thanksgiving, what comes to mind when listening to friends’ travel plans? That I’m staying home.
My flying horror stories aren’t that horrendous. Rude, inconsiderate attendants who treat people as something less than sub-citizen, officious security officers denying my preschooler the water their documents stated she was allowed, time spent standing in lines for beyond forever, (only to be told that they’d neglected to organize the lines so most of us had just missed our flight), and of course, the inevitable time spent…sitting…on…the…tarmac.
Well, at least all you poor people flying this holiday season can listen to some sympathetic music. Maybe turn it up, and let the attendants enjoy it when your twiddling your thumbs and watching your connecting flight slip away from you.
Or better yet, teach it to your fellow passengers in the event of a delay and sing it loud and clear ’til the airline bigwigs can hear it all the way to their swanky offices.
