In perusing the history section of my local library, I came across this book:

 

Of course I checked it out, fell in love, and ran over to Amazon to see about getting my own copy.  This hardcover edition is pricey and/or out of print, so I’ll have to check carefully into newer editions or alternative versions of the book and make sure they’re as good.

One instant favorite cartoon is found on page #40 of my borrowed addition.  It shows a portly gentlemen holding several lollopops, standing on a rock in the ocean, and surrounded by malevolent sea serpents tattooed with the swastika.  The caption reads “Remember…one more lollypop, and then you all go home!”

My brain instantly erupted with story ideas, and I was left scrambling to write them down.  Perhaps I should take a page out of the book and tell my muse, “One more cartoon, then you have to go home.”
