A Match Made in Snarls

Cats and yarn.  They seem to go together…everyone has the mental image of an old granny in her rocker with her cats about her feet and the knitting needles going at a million miles a minute.

Of course, the other image that comes to mind looks something like this:

And I’m discovering that this is no accident.  Cats have long been known to keep secret, spurious rendevous with the night and the moon.  We’re also aware of the very real possibility that they are the actual rulers of the planet, and tolerate us humans because we’re useful and pet them.

May I add to this list of clandestine cat behavior the strong suspicion that cats are on a mission to deliberately snarl, snap, and otherwise counfound our yarn creations?

This article on the perils of mixing cats and yarn adds evidence to my case, and I can’t think how else a cat with five acres to wander, and which was nowhere around upon our taking up residence on the deck, would find itself compelled to sprawl wherever the loom and yarn was gathered.
