I think I’ve mentioned before that I have trouble with spelling.  Nothing that a copy editor or a good dictionary can’t fix, but occasionally I find myself forelorn and lonesome without spellcheck or Websters close at hand. Today I worked on the next rewrite of my Takers story.  I’ve settled on the new ending (well, sort of) and figured out other background details that were messing up the plot.  Now if I could just settle on a good title . . .

A portait winner from Scholastic

I happened across a ‘portrait contest winner’ at Scholastic that is a pretty good tale.  The girl who wrote the winning story is reportedly thirteen, and gave it a fun little twist.  An entertaining piece, it can also serve as an admonition: Never leave your diary unsigned.
