Which Green Are You?

Being that it’s St. Patty’s day and because I’m researching the meaning of symbols for 13 Demon Days, I decided to see what ‘green’ means to different people.  I liked this article on about.com, and there’s a great list here.  What was funny for me was how differently I’ve perceived green throughout my life.

As a child it was my mother’s green thumb, the calm feeling of being surrounded by trees, and pinching my sibs with great glee on March 17th.  Later it was the green rooms of theater, oceanic green, and envy.  Now I think of dollar signs, the green movement, the Irish, and historic village greens.  Today I learned that green is supposedly associated with safety, and was reminded of floating down the Green River.  Of course, I’m also crossing my fingers that none of the eggs in the incubator turn green and explode…yet more proof of the myriad associations with the color green.  Seems like a pretty versatile color.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
