Giving Thanks (for quirky things)

I am thankful for a husband who still thinks I’m the wife for him, even while he makes me soup and edits my chapters.

I am thankful for kids who believe me when I say the house must be cleaned (without my help) or no more Wii for the whole break.  I am thankful when they love me anyway.

I am thankful for chocolate, especially when I’m way behind on edits and have a deadline.  Okay, I’m thankful for the edits too, ’cause they give me an excuse to eat chocolate.

I am thankful that in NC, our weather still looks like a fall harvest could possibly be going on when we celebrate Thanksgiving.

I am thankful that this Thanksgiving I will only be bringing my cough and the key lime pie to the table.  I will not be bringing any tissue boxes, for which my fellow diners are thankful.

I am thankful that this year, Black Friday starts on Thursday night instead of Friday morning.  Late night=good.  Early morning=bad.  Thank you Black Friday people!

I am thankful for Monk, which is my favorite show right now.  It makes me laugh before I sleep, and that means deeper rest.  It also means I can recognize when I’m channeling my inner Monk and sometimes tell myself to stop.

I am thankful we got the last pack of model rocket engines.  I’m also thankful that my camera took a miracle shot, and even let me hold it while the camera took the picture.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
