Coming back from our Super Christmas vacation (inside joke which will be shared with my blog readers in the next post), I put up my new calendar(s) for 2011 and realized how much I’m looking forward to this next year. And not just because 2010 had some really rough spots. I’m also totally stoked for the challenges and opportunities of the new year. Some of my goals:
- Get a novel under contract. If this is 13 Demon Days, Hallelujah! If it’s one of my other super-secret-not-to-be-mentioned-here projects, that’s fine too. This is the year I become a professionally paid writer.
- Drive coast to coast. We have a reunion scheduled in July that will take place in Seattle. We’re feeling a little trepidation at the thought of pushing all the way across this over-sized land mass, but believe we’re up to the challenge. Woohoo!
- Get back to my black belt testing weight. This one’s been a work in progress, and I’m over halfway there. I got tired of the creeping poundage and decided to put it in reverse. The result is that I am now back to wearing all my clothes, and have only to loosen the waistbands by dropping those extra inches.
There are other goals and sundry I’ll attempt to accomplish this year, including potentially participating in the launch of a group blog with some of my most fabulous friends, but the above list will do for starters. Tonight I’m off to a party fellow Codexian and writing friend James Maxey is throwing, and I have to keep this post short or I might nix my goal of arriving in good time.
Happy New Year!
