The Super Post

I kept hoping that the super post would be accompanied by some really super-spectacular, save-the-world kind of news…but nothing earth-shattering came up.  On the other hand, no one has attempted to sabotage me with kryptonite of any color, either.  And, hey, absence of kryptonite is a good thing.

We are having a super long break, which has increased daily due to inclement weather–otherwise known as a skiff of snow.  This has allowed for the playing of games, the baking of pumpkin pie, and the long winter sleep-in.  Oh, and another re-write on 13 Demon Days.

Now, if you’re anything like my kids, and if you have any idea how long I’ve been re-writing 13DD, you probably just rolled your eyes.  However, you can just un-stick your eyes and pull them back down to earth.  This re-write is THE ONE.  I have finally found where and how my book is supposed to begin, and in fact written the new first chapter.  And the best part is, it’s the beginning the rest the story always wanted!  Of course I will have to go through the whole book and fine tune/streamline, but every significant part of the story is enhanced by rather than thrown out by this new beginning.  Yay!

So, on to the super stuff.  Which will also include a quick trip up to NYC at the end of the month, for the SCBWI winter conference.  While there I will take time off from wooing editors and charming agents to hang with three of my closest writing friends.  And on that head, I can hint at a bit of super news–we plan to start a group blog!  More to come on that as it develops.  Try not to hold your breath, and we’ll try to hurry our plans.

So, much to look forward to and plenty to keep one busy–and that’s before the leftover pumpkin pie is added into the equation.  Good thing I’ve got a super pal to mug around with, eh?

The pic was taken with a very accomodating and festive Super Man, in Metropolis, Illinois.  A handy place to stretch my legs on the way home from St. Louis.  And an even better place to stretch your flying muscles!
