The National Hurricane Center links to a preparedness site which looks helpful.  A lot of the info we’re already aware of, but a refresher is alwasy a good plan, and emergency packs should be regularly updated.

I also had’nt really considered the necessity of having a different plan for the different emergencies a hurricane can bring in its wake.  They discuss storm surge, high winds, tornadoes, and flooding on the site.  The other three we’ve considered, but tornadoes not so much.

Hmmm.

Our house has no basement, just a shallow crawl space.  We also don’t have a small interior room unless the closet under the stairs can count.  It’s not really interior, but at least it doesn’t have any windows.  It’s not incredibly roomy, either, but maybe we could take turns pretending to be Harry Potter.
