Did you ever have a day that was so weighed down by its own ‘To Do’ list it stayed in bed and scrapped the whole thing? Today was like that. Or, at least, the first half. A day which really had no business doing anything but nose-to-the-grindestone work, and at an efficiency level that would put all the Martha Stewarts of the world to shame.
Instead I took a walk. Not even all that fast-paced. Later I caught up with a friend. Somewhere in there I put some winter decorations away, and re-filled the bird feeders outside. And, okay, maybe I got one or two other useful things done, but I don’t think they were even on the list in the first place and I know they weren’t strenuous.
But, ya know, it felt great.
Hurray for having just a strong enough maverick streak that the list is not an omnipotent master.
